Research Associate in Next Generation Artificial Intelligence

The University of Sheffield

Biography

I am a postgraduate research associate at the Dept. of Computer Science at the University of Sheffield, UK. I am a member of Mangan Lab, led by Mike Mangan. My research on the ActiveAI project is funded by EPSRC. Within ActiveAI, I work with researchers at the University of Sussex and collaborate with Australian experts in invertebrate behaviour.

I completed my PhD studies in Natural Robotics Lab, under the supervision of Dr Roderich Gross, at ACSE at the University of Sheffield. During my PhD, I worked with swarm robotics and modular robotic systems where I developed a deep interest into self-organisation and artificial intelligence.

My research lays at the intersection of insect neurobiology and machine learning. Currently, I am working on bio-inspired neural networks and improving efficiencies of reinforcement learning algorithms.
